FAQ'S
Q. What areas do you cover?
A. We offer Dog Walking in Leith, Meadowbank, Restalrig, Lochend, Hillside, Trinity, Craigentinny, Portobello, Granton and other nearby areas.
For Pet Sitting we cover all these areas and also some parts of the New Town. If you live in North Edinburgh, give us a shout and see if we can help you!
Q. How many dogs are in a group walk?
A. We are insured to walk up to 6 dogs per walker but we limit our numbers to 4 or occasionally 5 dogs.

Q. How are the dogs transported?
A. Our cars have cages in the back so your dog is kept safe and secure on their journey to and from the walk. Each dog has their own cage unless they are travelling with another dog from their household ( they generally like to share a cage!) The cages are light and airy and the dogs are not in the dark. They can see both each other and the driver. Most importantly the driver can see the dogs so they can ensure they are content during the journey.
Please note that our vehicles are not sign written so when we park outside your property we are not advertising the fact you are not in your house.
Q. What time will my dog be walked?
A. The times of our group walks are as follows:
-
9.15-10.15am (Only 1 space available on a Friday)
-
11.45am-12.45pm (Currently fully booked, contact us to be added to waiting list)
-
14.15-15.15pm (1 space available on a Monday and a Tuesday)
(Please note that these timings are estimates and are affected by factors such as traffic, road works and weather!)
We can accommodate solo walks out with these times. Please contact us if you require an early morning/ evening/ weekend walk.
Your dog will be picked up around 20-45mins before the start of the walk and dropped off roughly 20-45mins after the walk. The duration of the walk is 60mins and this does not include transport time.
Q. Are you Insured?
A. Yes, we are fully insured with Cliverton and we are also registered with Edinburgh Council.
Q. Will my dog be allowed off lead?
A. If your dog has good recall then we will be happy to let them off to have a run around with their furry mates. If your dog hasn’t got good recall then we will keep them on lead. This is for the safety of both your dog and the other dogs on the walk. We always assess each new dog and only allow them off lead when we believe they are ready. It goes without saying that we only let dogs off lead in areas in which it is safe to do so.
Q. Do you walk in bad weather?
A. Yes! We walk in all weather. The only time we will cancel walks due to the weather is if it is so extreme that it would be unsafe to walk.
Q. Does my dog have to be neutered?
A. We do not scrutinise against entire dogs, however, if their entirety is causing problems on the walk then we will discuss this with you. We are happy to walk unneutered bitches but will not walk them while they are in season.
Q. How do I know how my pet is getting on?
A. For Dog Walking clients, we will text you an update after your dogs first walk. After that we will keep you updated on any significant occurances. We also post photo’s of the walks onto the Facebook page each week so you can see how your dog is getting on and who their new furry mates are! Check out our Gallery to see pictures of our current clients enjoying their walks.
For Pet Sitting clients, we text you a daily update to keep you informed on how your pet is doing. We also send you the odd photo so you can enjoy your holiday and relax knowing your pet is happy and content.
Q. What is the cancellation policy?
A. We love it when customers give us as much notice as possible when they need to cancel a walk but we appreciate this isn’t always possible.
Dog Walks cancelled with less than 24hours notice will be charged at 100%.
For Pet Sitting Clients, if you cancel your trip entirely, 20% of entire booking fee will apply for all notification less than 7 days prior to scheduled sits. If Owner cancels, 50% of entire booking fee will apply for all notification 72 hours or less before scheduled sits are to begin.
Q. Do you offer a Puppy Sitting Service?
A. We currently have availability for Puppy Visits before 9am or after 4pm. Contact us if you’d like to book in.
Q. How does Pet Sitting work?
A. Our Pet Sitting service is suited to pets such as cats, rodents, rabbits, fish. Any pet that is happy to have one or two visits a day will love our Pet Sitting Service! This service is not suitable for dogs as they require far more attention! Our Pet Sitting Service allows your pet to stay in the comfort of their own home and avoid the potential stressful environment of kennels. We offer both breakfast and teatime visits so your pet can be happy and relaxed knowing that their meal times are unaffected while you are away.
Q. Do you offer home boarding?
A. Unfortunately we do not provide a boarding service. If you are struggling to find somewhere to board your pet please contact us and we will be happy to help you find a boarding professional in your area.
Q. How do I book?
A. Contact us and we will get back to you ASAP. We offer a free initial consultation where we come to meet you and your pet to discuss your needs.
